IUPUI embraces its history as a diverse and welcoming campus by holding special affinity graduation ceremonies. Each event has its own unique traditions and rituals, designed to honor a particular culture or group.

Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Graduation Celebration

An event honoring Asian and Asian American students graduating with an associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree.

Lavender Graduation Celebration

An event for LGBTQ+ people that allows them to openly celebrate their undergraduate, graduate, and professional achievements.

Latin@ Graduation Celebration

To honor our IUPUI Latin@ graduates for their successes and achievements. Presented by the Latino Faculty and Staff Council. Please check with your unit for updated plans.

IUPUI Celebration of Black Graduates

To honor graduates of African ancestry and to acknowledge the significant role education plays in their lives and in the history of African Americans. Co-sponsored by IUPUI’s Black Faculty and Staff Council and the Indianapolis Chapter of the Neal–Marshall Alumni Club.
